At LSBU, we are proud to offer a range of specialist facilities available for public hire. Whether you are looking for a fully equipped simulation hospital ward or a temperature controlled enrionmental chamber, LSBU is developing a substantial offering of specialist facilities located in a prime central London location. Many of the spaces also come with specialist technical services, to offer an extra level of support.

Strength of Materials and Structures Laboratory

The strength of materials and structures lab offers clients the opportunity to perform tensile, compressive, and bending tests on materials and structures using Universal Testing Machines (UTMs).

Environmental Chamber

The environmental chamber is a flexible Climate Simulator used for controlled testing and developing new techniques and systems.

Digital Architectural and Robotics Lab (DARLAB)

LSBU's Digital Architectural and Robotics Lab (DARLAB) uses industrial grade robotic setup to develop advanced manufacturing solutions for research and academic purposes.

The XR Studio is a digital creation and research facility that uses cutting-edge technology such as Mixed Reality (XR), Motion Capture and Virtual Production to support academic research and creative businesses in prototyping and designing new immersive and interactive products and processes.

Anechoic Chamber

The Anechoic Chamber is designed to provide a completely sound-isolated environment where sound power levels, frequency responses, and pure recordings can be accurately measured.

Reverberation Chamber

The Reverberation Chamber is a specialized facility used to measure material absorption coefficients, sound power levels, and the behavior of sound in highly reflective environments.

Simulation Nursing Wards

The Nursing Wards at LSBU are cutting-edge spaces designed to replicate real hospital wards and provide an immersive learning environment where healthcare professionals can prepare for clinical placements and undertake skills practice in a safe, supportive setting.
