The test will provide you with an assessment of your maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max). This is the gold standard measurement of aerobic fitness. It can be used to compare your aerobic status to normative values for age and gender, as well as sporting populations. Assessment of VO2max is also useful for tracking the impact of training programmes on development of aerobic fitness.

• The time required for the assessment of VO2max is approximately 60-minutes including pretesting preparation and testing time.
• Exercise will be specific to performance needs (i.e. running, cycling, etc) and involve progressive increases in intensity over time.
• Gas exchange responses will be measured using breath-by-breath analysis during exercise to measure oxygen uptake and other relevant physiological measures of intensity
• Assessment of whole-body and segmental body composition using bio-electric impedance analysis*.
• Personalised report providing information on your VO2max and how it compares to others of the same age, gender, and athletic populations, will be provided via e-mail.

Please note: Bio-electrical impedance analysis technology is not suitable for people with an electronic medical implant, such as a pacemaker, and pregnant individuals.

We will meet you at the reception area of our K2 building where our HPC clinic is located.

We will then work with you to organise a time for you to come to campus and complete the testing. Once the test has been scheduled, you can return to this website and purchase the service.
