The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) course is part of the Strategic Professional Level of the ACCA qualification.
Delegates will learn to apply and evaluate the concepts, principles and practices that underpin preparation and interpretation of corporate reports.

Participants will need to have completed the ACCA Applied Skills Level exam in order to undertake this course.
This course is for ambitious individuals working in accountancy, or related fields, who have completed the Applied Skills Level of the ACCA qualification and are looking to become business or financial leaders.
The ACCA SBR course comprises a wide-ranging syllabus, which includes various accounting standards, some introduced in Financial Reporting and others examined only in SBR.
The course also features current financial and accounting issues, exposure drafts and narrative reporting.
Questions are set in the context of single entities, holding, groups, private limited companies or public sector, for-profit, or not-for-profit organisations.
The ACCA SBR course also considers the perspectives of investors and other stakeholders. This requires analysing and interpreting information, explaining how transactions impact financial statements and other reports, as well as explaining accounting treatments and disclosures.
By the end of the programme participants will be equipped to apply the concepts, theories and principles of corporate reporting to real-life scenarios. Participants will be fully prepared to take the SBR exam.
The ACCA SBR course is taught by Joe Adomako. Joe is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting in the School of Business at LSBU and teaches in the area of finance, accounting, specialising in financial reporting, as well as theories and issues in accounting and finance. Joe is a fellow of the ACCA.
The 20-week programme includes weekly three-hour face-to-face sessions taught by the course leader. These take place every Wednesday evening, 18:00-21:00, allowing delegates to fit the course around work commitments.
Participants are expected to undertake 2 hours of self-led work a week, including homework assignments, to complete the course. There are also mock exams.
The sessions are hosted in LSBU’s Keyworth Building situated in the Southwark Campus. Elephant and Castle is the nearest tube station. The building hosts a café serving hot and cold food and refreshments.
This course will total approximately 60 hours of teaching time, running three-hour sessions over twenty weeks. Participants will be expected to dedicate 2 hours per week to self-led study.
The ACCA SBR programme is a revision-based course in preparation for formal exams.

The pass is awarded by the ACCA.
