This short online course will provide you with the knowledge you need to set up a Blood pressure awareness programme in your community. The course includes learning outcomes, a training film, links to relevant resources and a certificate. This course is supported by Blood Pressure UK.
The course objectives for this course are:
- To understand how many adults in the UK have high blood pressure and who is at risk
- To know what blood pressure is, how to measure it and to be aware of what the readings mean
- To be able to give advice to your community on how people can reduce their blood pressure
- To appreciate that not everyone has trust in the NHS and therefore they might need support to help them look after their blood pressure
The course includes learning outcomes, a training film, links to relevant resources and a certificate of completion.
This course is suitable for any individual who works or volunteers for a community organisation and who has an interest in learning about blood pressure and running blood pressure awareness events.
This course is assessed by a short multiple choice quiz (12 questions). A score of 10/12 has to be achieved for a certificate to be issued.
To access this course, please create an account on this site by clicking on 'Sign Up' in the top right hand corner, and log in. Go to 'Training Store' to find the course entitled 'Community Blood Pressure: Becoming a Blood Pressure Champion', then click 'View Details' and 'Add Free Course'. You can then go to 'Blended Learning' and complete the course.
Once the course is 100% completed, you will be able to view and download your certificate.
