Professor Allan Matthews is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Professor of Surface Engineering and Tribology. He is Director of the EPSRC NetworkPlus in Digitalised Surface Manufacturing and a leading pioneer in surface engineering, with extensive experience spanning industry, academia, and international research leadership. Professor Nadimul Faisal Professor Nadimul Faisal is Professor of Surface Engineering and Micromechanics at Robert Gordon University. An experimental researcher, his work focuses on thermal spray coatings, advanced materials, and multi-scale mechanics, with strong emphasis on sustainable manufacturing and digitally enabled surface engineering. Professor Ben Beake Professor Ben Beake is a UK-based materials science and mechanical engineering researcher specialising in nanomechanical and nanotribological properties of coatings and advanced materials. He has extensive research experience in small-scale testing, force microscopy, wear analysis, and the mechanical characterisation of thin films and protective coatings, and has authored numerous publications in high-impact journals. His work supports understanding and optimisation of materials performance in engineering applications. This course will also include industry experts from Polytec, Thermal Vision Research, Beuhler and Photron.
