LSBU's Clinical Skills Laboratories are purpose-built educational spaces that support hands-on learning. Designed for procedural skill development using anatomical models, they allow students and healthcare professionals to develop, refine, and assess clinical competencies in a safe, controlled setting before applying them in simulated practice and placement.  

These Clinical Skills Laboratories are custom spaces that can be arranged to your requirements. The labs are equipped with the following basic features:

• Rows of high-top benches with stools or standing access, power and data points. 
• AV, projector screens and visualisers
• Trough sinks for clinical handwashing 
• Storage and prep areas for consumable preparation

• Male and female urinary catheterization simulators 
• Bowel care and enema trainers 
• Ostomy care models 

Wound & Skin Care 

• Suturing pads and trainers 
• Wound dressing models 
• Pressure ulcer assessment models 

Obstetrics & Gynecology 

• Cervical dilation models 
• Pelvic exam trainers 
• Breast examination models 

Pediatric & Neonatal 

• Neonatal resuscitation trainers 
• Infant and child CPR torsos 

Vital Signs Equipment 

• Manual and digital blood pressure cuffs 
• Simulated pulse oximeters 
• Thermometers (oral, tympanic, infrared) 
• Stethoscopes (standard and electronic)

LSBU’s Clinical Skills Laboratories are ideal for clinical skills workshops and medical training sessions. 

Our facilities are uniquely positioned to support the healthcare sector's needs, thanks to strong partnerships with over 50 NHS organizations, including renowned institutions like Great Ormond Street Hospital, and are located in central London.

We have a trained group of technicians who will be available to answer any questions you might have about the space. However, it is also possible for you to use the space independently once you have undertaken introductory training on the equipment.

LSBU's two Clinical Skills Laboratories  are located on our Southwark Campus and have capacity for 60 users each.
