The ILM Level 7 Certificate in Coaching Supervision is one of ILM's most senior coaching qualifications. It is designed to develop your expertise in coaching supervision through a structured yet flexible learning approach. The course includes three mandatory units that critically review the role and contribution of coaching supervision at all levels.

There are no specific entry requirements, but participants are typically practicing and experienced coaches, capable of meeting the assessment demands, often evidenced by holding a coaching and mentoring qualification at level 7.

The ILM qualification is suited to professional coaches seeking to enhance their expertise and credentials in coaching supervision, as well as HR and OD professionals looking to integrate coaching supervision into their practice.

The primary themes covered in the certificate programme:

1. Skills, Principles, and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring: This theme focuses on imparting essential skills, principles, and best practices necessary for effective coaching and mentoring within organizational settings.
2. Undertaking Effective Coaching and Mentoring: This segment entails the practical application of coaching and mentoring techniques, where students are tasked with delivering a minimum of 20 hours of coaching sessions in the capacity of both coach and mentor.
3. Reviewing Your Practice as a Coach and Mentor: Here, participants engage in reflective exercises to evaluate and enhance their coaching and mentoring practices, fostering continuous improvement and professional development in their roles.

Participants will gain:

• Comprehensive understanding of coaching supervision principles and best practices
• Hands-on experience in delivering senior-level coaching supervision (minimum 20 hours)
• Advanced skills in reflective practice to continuously improve coaching supervision effectiveness
• Deep appreciation of your supervisory approach, enhancing your presence and insight as a practitioner
• Ability to foster development and performance improvement in clients

The programme is delivered and assessed by a team of experienced coaches from the Academy of Leadership and Management.

Learning activities include:

• 1-2-1 induction session
• Monthly coaching supervision sessions
• Online learning modules
• Reflective assignments and practical activities
• Regular feedback from coaching supervisors and assessment team

The programme spans 6 months and includes 6 x 1-2-1 tuition sessions, conducted via MS Teams or Zoom.

Participants would be expected to dedicate between 5-8 hours per week undertaking the modules and to complete the assignments.

The assessment comprises practically focused assignments based on the participant's role, organisation, and CPD as a coaching supervisor.

Participants earn 20 credits upon successful completion of this course.
