The CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is tailored for individuals seeking to enhance their strategic management and leadership capabilities, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary for senior management and leadership roles. 

The qualification encompasses a diverse range of units reflective of the tasks and responsibilities required by managers in senior positions, including senior managers, regional management, and specialist managers. These roles involve overseeing people, projects, operations, and services to ensure long-term organisational success, while upholding professionalism, ethical conduct, and a commitment to continual learning and development.

There are no formal entry requirements, but  participants are typically practicing or aspiring middle managers committed to their professional growth.

The qualifications have been designed for practising or aspiring managers in roles such as:

• Senior Manager
• Regional Manager
• Specialist Manager (with expertise in a specific business or technical function such as quality, finance, risk, marketing, sales IT, human resources etc.)
• Director

Our qualifications are broken down into units and relevant topics aligned to the level and qualification. Our Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership comprises 2 units, from (We advise that you choose the 1st unit and then choose additional units related to your development and learning requirements. You will discuss your choices and the credits available for each unit with your tutor at the induction session):

• Developing organisational strategy
• Strategic risk management
• Entrepreneurial practice
• Personal and professional development for strategic leaders
• Strategic approaches to equality, diversity and inclusion
• Strategic approaches to mental health and wellbeing

Completing a CMI qualification offers you more than just academic standing, alongside your qualification you have access to CMI Membership and Support for the duration of your study.

The programme is delivered and assessed by a team of experienced coaches from the Academy of Leadership and Management.

Each unit involves a number of learning activities including:

• Online learning
• Monthly tutorial sessions with your personal tutor
• Practical work based assignments
• Regular feedback from your tutor and the assessment team

The programme spans 12 months and includes 13 x monthly 1-2-1 tuition sessions, conducted via MS Teams or Zoom.

Participants would be expected to dedicate between 5-8 hours per week undertaking the modules and to complete the assignments.

Assessment: one assignment per learning unit. A series of practically focused assignments based the subject theme and topics, your role, your organisation and your own development as a manager and leader. 

Participants earn 37 credits upon successful completion of this course.
